Job Details :
Responsible for design, development and implementation of Teradata Server
Database systems. Oversee, perform and manage Teradata Server Projects
and operations. Resolves issues regarding development, operations,
implementations, and system status. Research and recommend options for
department direction on Teradata Management Systems, automated solutions,
server-related topics. Provide technical leadership on complex projects
and research new technology for use by the department.
MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Actively and consistently support all efforts to simplify and enhance
the customer experience.
- Assist Project Managers, Managers, Architects, Directors, and VPs in
setting strategies and tactical implementing procedures along with the
budget planning.
- Strong Knowledge in Teradata Architecture and its implementation.
- Develop long term roadmaps for Teradata Environment.
- Strong understanding of best practices in maintaining medium to large
scale Teradata database systems.
- Design and Maintain Compliance and Audit Security Controls in
alignment with Enterprise Security policies.
- Monitor system utilization / performance for capacity planning
purposes and provide recommendations and action plan to management; plan
for business continuity
- Define and Develop strategy by identifying technology/tools and keep
up to date with latest industry trends and make recommendations to
management.
- Automate repeatable administrative procedures like Installation,
database health checks, database fragmentation and patching to improve the
operational efficiency.
- Develop method of procedures by performing proof of concept or testing
of new technologies and guide the team to ensure successful implementation.
- Clear understanding of Enterprise Architecture & Strategy and IT
Governance procedures and policies.
- Extensive experience in implementing Master Data Management, Data
Governance methodologies.
- Extensive experience in design and maintaining Operational Data Store
and Data Warehouse. Configure, tune and maintain databases.
- Perform backup and recovery strategies to meet or exceed defined
business SLA?s for the Teradata Databases.
- Design and perform disaster recovery plans.
- Troubleshoot alerts and performance issues.
- Assist Developers, Architects, System Administrators and Software
Analysts as needed.
- Develop Cost Effective Design Models.
